Where the data comes from
Every night Maps Harvest runs a short Google Maps search for the most common business types in the largest cities and keeps a small summary of what came back. The tools read that summary, so a result appears at once and nothing is scraped while you wait. Each result shows the date it was collected and how many listings it is based on.
The tools show a sample. When you want the whole list for a city, a state or a country, with up to 23 fields for every business, that is what the scraper is for.
